Over the Covid-19 lockdown in Malaysia, known as the Movement Control Order, Mun Hean (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (MHM), in collaboration with MH Technology Borneo Sdn Bhd and MH Technology Malaysia Sdn Bhd, seized the opportunity to organize a series of webinars over the MCO period. The webinars received considerable attention and response. 3 Solar Photovoltaic (PV) – related webinars in particular, were attended by a range of industry players, from solar, mechanical & electrical (M&E) consultants to members from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA).

The webinars were presented by the MHM team, led by Ir Roger Wong, General Manager, with Business Development Managers, Mr David Lee and Mr Alex Foong and moderated by Mr Vince Lim, Sales Engineer of MHM.

The first webinar titled “Solar Photovoltaic System” was held on 24 April. It was attended by about 70 participants, with the majority from M&E consultancy practices. The presenters covered topics related to standards, design, installation, specification and technologies relating to solar PV. Mun Hean’s total solutions in Energy, Power Quality Management and Lightning Protection systems also received particular interest.

The second webinar held on 5 May was curated to address a common question in the industry “How does Solar PV System influence the Power Factor of a Building?” The webinar with 57 participants from the solar industry and members of SEDA was especially lively. The presentation finished with a presentation on Mun Hean’s PQ solutions in Vishay capacitor banks and Sinexcel Static Var Generators.

Three days later, MHM held a webinar on the topic “Optimizing Solar PV Energy Generation and Performance with SCADA.” The webinar was designed for members from the solar industry and was attended by more than 30 participants. The topic of the webinar covered relevant SEMS /SCADA system for solar PV system, explaining the need for SEMS or SCADA system to optimize Solar PV Energy Generation and Performance. The webinar finished with a presentation of PQ solutions from Janitza, SEMS and Ordek SCADA solutions.

The series of webinars were a success and MHM will continue to plan more of such solutions sharing with the industry.
